Wayland (also spelled Weyland, Weland and Watlende, etc.) is a mythical smith-god of the Anglo-Saxon religion brought with the Saxon settlers of Britain. He is synonymous with the Norse/Germanic Völundr of the Völundarkviða, a poem in the Poetic Edda.
